The calculator uses the data you input and does not compare that data against your actual LASERS account. The accuracy of your pension estimate will depend on how closely the data entered by you now matches your information at retirement.

The benefit estimates generated by this calculator are not guaranteed benefits. These calculations are merely estimated, and the actual pension benefit you are entitled to as a member of LASERS is determined by applicable laws as well as finalized service credit, earnings, and leave balances at the time you retire.

Members may be eligible to purchase service credit in accordance with La. R.S. 11:429.  Such “air time” purchases of up to five years service credit can be used for the calculation of benefits only, not to obtain eligibility to retire.  (Persons who purchased air time prior to July 1, 2005, may use that time for both computation and eligibility.)

At this time, these estimate calculations apply only to regular members and do not address correctional officers, judges and court officers, wildlife agents, Crescent City Connection Bridge Police employees, or legislators. The calculation cannot include reciprocal/actuarial transfers, LSU service prior to 1979 or disability retirement information. You may request an estimate from LASERS for these options if you are within one year of eligibility for retirement.
